Title:Fugro Chance Positions For Horizon Offshore

*Fugro Chance Inc*. was recently contracted by Horizon Offshore to position a proposed pipeline for Newfield Exploration Company at High Island A 355 in the Gulf of Mexico. Fugro Chance utilized its STARFIX.NAV positioning system and scanning sonar technology to assist Horizon to lay the pipeline in the proposed target box at start-up and lay-down. Fugro Chance has utilized this successful combination of technologies for several recent projects for Horizon.

Title:Subsea 7 and Technip-Coflexip Awarded Esso Ringhorne Jurassic Contract


Global subsea contractor, Subsea 7, announced today that the Ringhorne Jurassic to Jotun and Balder Gas Disposition Pipeline Systems contract will be performed in co-operation with Technip-Coflexip’s Norwegian entity on a 50/50 work split basis following the award by Esso Norge AS to Technip-Coflexip. The total contract value is estimated at 75m EUR (560 mNOK).


The Ringhorne field is located in blocks 25/8, 25/10 and 25/11 in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea about 160 miles west of Haugesund in water depths of between 124 to 129 metres. The scope of work includes procurement, fabrication and installation of 81km rigid flow lines, flexible risers and flexible jumpers. The work also includes tie in of spools using divers and diverless subsea construction work such as tie ins, trenching, rock dumping and commissioning of the installed system.


Jan Roger Olsen, Subsea 7’s vice president Norway stated: "This contract award constitutes further recognition of our subsea engineering expertise and enhances Subsea 7’s position in the Norwegian marketplace."


Commencing summer 2003, the project will be managed from Technip-Coflexip’s Oslo offices with support from Subsea 7’s Stavanger and Grimstad operations.


Subsea 7’s expansive vessel fleet will be utilised including the Skandi Navica for rigid pipelay, Toisa Polaris for the Ringhorne tie-ins, Seisranger and Kommandor 2000 for survey and construction support.
